Sophie Reid has faithfully waited for her missionary. During Blake’s mission she wrote and sent care packages. At the airport she anxiously waits to welcome him home along with his family. As he comes off the plane, Blake ignores Sophie and is giving lots of attention to a beautiful brunette that he met on his mission. In front of his family, the beautiful brunette and an airport of strangers, Blake dumps Sophie and announces his engagement to the beautiful brunette.

As this reality sets in, Sophie is determined to get over her humiliation and work in a little harmless revenge. With the help of her best friend, Jacie, they come up with a five step plan to accomplish the harmless revenge and get Sophie back into the dating scene. This is complicated by Sophie’s snobby relatives who are quick to point out all of her flaws. With a complete makeover, Sophie is ready to take on the dating scene and her snobby relatives.

Dealing with the relatives is easy and predictable, even if it takes more courage than she thought she had, but dating is hard. Now Sophie has Paul, Sam and Blake in her life. Sophie suspects that Paul is in love with someone else, Sam has a psychotic ex-girlfriend who is threatening her and Blake seems to have realized that maybe he made a mistake in dumping her. What is a girl to do?

As life moves on Sophie is coming to realize that perhaps love, forgiveness and honesty can have a bigger effect in a total makeover than scissors and highlights. This book has many intriguing elements in it to keep your attention, including courage, lies, love, conspiracy, drama, forgiveness and a bit of scandal. This is a fun light-hearted read with a slightly bent heroine who isn’t afraid to find lasting love.
