I run the Nauvoo Workshop for LDS Writers forum on Orson Scott Card's Nauvoo website
http://www.nauvoo.com/ubb2/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi and I'm having a hard time getting people to participate.
I was thinking it might help if I were to offer some writing challenges or writing exercises.
One of the rules, though, is that people can only post 13 lines of manuscript text (basically, the first page of a properly formatted short story manuscript). This is intended to protect their electronic publication rights as well as to keep the size of posts down. It's also a way for those giving feedback to say whether they'd turn the page (whether they wanted to keep reading) and explain why or why not.
Anyway, would anyone here be willing to suggest writing exercises or challenges I could offer that might work within that 13-line rule? I could offer challenges for whole stories, but I'm thinking that shorter challenges are more likely to get responses.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
