The annual Eugene England Memorial Lecture at Utah Valley State College will be delivered this year by Professor Douglas Thayer. Thayer's address, entitled "Does Anybody Need Serious Realistic Mormon Fiction?", will be delivered on April 15 at 7 p.m. in room 101 of the Liberal Arts building at UVSC. Thayer has long been known as a pioneer of literary Mormon fiction. He is the author of, among other works, a short story collection _Under the Cottonwoods_, the novels _Summerfire_ and _The Conversion of Jeff Williams_. His most recent work is the highly acclaimed memoir _Hooligan: A Mormon Boyhood_.
