I think I need to find a support group for people who have been caught up in a series of books that are incomplete. Several years ago I came across David G Woolley's Promised Land series and read books 1-3. Shortly after that we moved to England and I lost track of them in all of the tumult. I really enjoyed them, though, so I was excited when I came across book 4 of Heather Moore's Book of Mormon novel in the new books section of the library. Thinking it was the series that I had read and enjoyed I picked it up and read it. As you might imagine, I was missing a few things! I actually ended up nearly reading the entire series backwards in an attempt to find out what happened to those characters and storylines that had disappeared! (My sister said to me, "Are you *sure* you read this series?") When I finally figured out what I actually HAD read I discovered that I had read all of the books that were published. But so much was left unresolved! I thought this was supposed to be a 7 book series! Since book three was published 5 years ago I am despairing about books 4-7. The worst part is that now I'm invested in these characters with NO hope of payoff!!!!! I actually ended up writing a please-write-more-books email to the author when I happened upon his blog in my searching. That's when I knew I needed help.

Now, if we could just get Orson Scott Card to write the sequel to Rachel and Leah.

YES!!! Maybe I should email him? :-)
This is what David Woolley had to say about his upcoming books if anyone is interested:
"The fourth book in the Promised Land Series is titled “Day of Remembrance”. It has been finished for some time, but there has been a rather long pause between the release of book three and four since the original publisher was purchased by Deseret Book. Now that all those details have been worked out under new management, the next installment will be coming out later this year. If you’d like to read the opening chapters, email me back and I’ll send them to you as a “preview” gift for an interested reader. Since all the editing and work on the fourth book is done, I am deep into the fifth book that has a working title of “Compass of God”. And I have been doing research for the past three years on the novels that will take place in the New World. I am so very excited about the direction and the depth that this series allows for exploring the detailed history surrounding the Book of Mormon. I had originally thought that the Old World books would be rich with historically driven plot lines, but I am finding out that the New world portion of the series holds even more exciting possibilities. Hold onto your hat. It is going to be wonderfully wild ride into the past."
